What is the AcrySof Toric IOL?
The AcrySof® IQ Toric IOL is a foldable, single-piece lens that is implanted during cataract surgery to replace the clouded lens. The unique design of the AcrySof® Toric IOL makes it possible to reduce or eliminate corneal astigmatism and significantly improve uncorrected distance vision.
After the lens is implanted, patients can expect to see significantly improved functional vision for activities such as night driving and playing sports. The AcrySof® Toric IOL lens provides QUALITY distance vision, independent of eyeglasses and contact lenses.
The AcrySof® Toric lens is made of the same biocompatible lens material already successfully implanted in more than 25 million eyes since 1991.
Unlike traditional monofocal intraocular lenses, the AcrySof® IQ Toric IOL is designed specifically for patients with impaired vision due to cataracts and astigmatism. Astigmatism is caused by the cornea being more curved, producing blurry and distorted vision in patients.
